Gaze and marvel at celestial wonders, with your feet on earth, in the Planetarium. It reveals to you the deep mysteries embedded in the night sky and introduces you to the fascinating world of Universe with its myriads of planets and stars.
Established in 1966, it appeals to tourists, residents and amateur astronomers. It was constructed as a part of the city wide building projects when Montreal hosted the World Trade Fair in1967.
The Montreal Planetarium presents a number of educational activities, workshops and exhibitions throughout the year. This season's schedule includes seven multimedia productions: Asteroids Lost in Space, A Night of Magic, The End of the World, and The Star of the Magi.
It presents a new show every season, on themes related to the most exciting discoveries in astronomy and space science. Discover the wonders of the sky above us through a variety of shows, every day and for all ages.
The Planetarium can accommodate 350 people in its Star theater. It is equipped with a 20 meter hemispherical dome and Zeiss projector which reveals to you the secrets of the night sky.
